How can keep my long nails from breaking?

I bite my nails so my finger nails look really small and ugly so I really get embarrassed… so recently Ive tried growing my nails long, but each time i do they break really easily is there anything i could use to prevent them from breaking? also when they grow long the edges tend to curve upwards…why is this?

Keep them filed and rounded. To prevent them from breaking, get some nail hardener or clear fingernail polish. That helped my nails a lot. Just try really hard to not bite them !

How do people with really long nails eat?

You know those people in record books with nails that are like 2 feet long??
How do they shower, eat, drive, etc?
Wouldn’t the nails break off because they get more fragile as they get onger

When you want to stick on false nails, is it better to have short or long natural nails underneath?

I prefer long nails because there is more support there for the false nails. But if you are planning on wearing them for a week or less, then I would just go with short nails, because it does make taking off the false nails much easier.

I love having long nails, as long as you take care of them and keep them looking nice they are very cute and sexy I think, and they add to your style. I usually change colors about two times a week and right now I am really into wearing light brown tones and medium pinks.

have you been instructed at your doctor’s office on how to put them in and take them out? my dad’s office ALWAYS does an instruct for first timers or if you think you need a re-instruct. if you just got the nails, they will probably re-instruct you. if they are too long, you might have to clip them. also:

It has just been on the tv that a lady has not cut her nails since the 1970′s and they are now over 30 inches long!
How is it possible to:
tie shoelaces?
use the toilet?
do up buttons?
tap a pin number into an atm?

etc etc what else can you think of?

I do not want fake nails, I just want them to be naturally long. I’m going on a vacation in 2 weeks, and I have a manicure coming up. I’m always embarrased about the way my nails look… are there any remidies YOU use to get really long nails?

Sally Hensen, her nail stuff is unreal! Get the clear green one and your nails grow really quick and stay strong so they don’t break! i use it and i wont use anything else!

My hamster has really long nails can that hurt him?

FACT – nails grow, plain and simple. It doesn’t matter what kind of animal it is, if they have claws or hooves, they grow and need to be kept properly trimmed. If not kept properly trimmed, nails will get excessively long, causing the animal to lose the ability to walk properly. Yes, your hamster may walk just fine, but the extra long nails will force his little fingers to warp upward or to the side, eventually causing much discomfort, pain, and possible permanent disfigurement.
Take your little buddy to see a vet and ask for a demonstration on how you can clip his nails properly, and regularly.

Please don’t ignore this – his long nails won’t "just go away".

Which method is the best to type on a keyboard with long fingernails,use the tip of the fingers or the nails?

My nails have become longer within last weeks,I achieved it at last.Now I have to learn to manage everything well with my pretty long fingernails,including typing on my laptop’s keyboard,as I try to keep them long and I wouldn’t like to break any of them.I’ll appreciate whatever help related to manage things with long nails without spoiling them nor the nail polish.Thanks.

I have long nails so I know what you mean, it can get complicated at first. I use the tip of my fingers instead of the tip of of my nails for two reasons, your hands get more tiered trying to type with the tip of your nails and because you can mess up your nails by typing like that. Yes, at first you will make a lot of typos but you will get the hang of it after a while.
